Radio Interviews

Ron performed at the Maine State Music Theater this summer as a part of the theater's 50th Anniversary celebration.  Ron first appeared at the MSMT in 1974 while a 24 year old student at Oklahoma City Univeristy. I asked Ron to tell us a little more.  "I was in productions of  No, No Nannette, Oliver, Where's Charlie, Anything Goes & Camelot," Ron explained.   "I played a leading role in No, No, Nanette and Where's Charlie.   My wife, Dona, whom I didn't know at the time, had been a leading lady at Maine State Music Theatre the preceding summer.  She directed there for two seasons after Charlotte was born.  It's wonderful to have Charlotte there now as an Actors' Equity intern.  Maine State is a family tradition for us," he added.

Ron Answers a Few Questions from Tracey!

September 2007

Ron recently agreed to do an interview with me and here is the result!

Many people who know I am a big Guiding Light fan and that I help with the website ask me, how do you remember all of those lines?

Each actor has his or her own way of learning their lines. I like to get my script as soon as possible and just start looking at it, or rather, them. I break down the script to just my scene's and then high-lite my lines. I try to pick them up daily and read them. Sometimes I don't know the lines until the last minute or, while we're shooting the scene. Believe me, it can get wild on the set.

What was/is your favorite storyline involving Alan?
Many favorites stories, but one comes to mind, not because of the great story, but because of who I was working with. It was the Marianne Crothers Ghost story a few years back . The real fun was working daily with Justin Deas, Peter Simon, Jordan Clark and Robert Newman. We laughed so much and had great fun.

I have read that Emile DeBeque is your favorite leading role on stage. What character that you have not played would you like to?
Frank Butler in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN

What is your favorite song?
It's impossible to name my favorite song. There have been so many great songs written.

Do you play any musical instruments?
A tiny bit of piano and I mean tiny

You have sung the National Anthem at many sporting events in the New York area. Do you follow any professional sports/teams? (I live in Steeler Country!)
(I) like all the New York teams, because I live here.

If you were not a vocalist/actor what would you be?
A teacher

A teacher! A man after my own heart!
emoticon6.gif for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions. Maybe we can do it again.
